The Champion's Journey - Childrens Ministry

Adventure Club starts 6:30pm Wednesday September 17th

Theme: The Champion's Journey

"....let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1b NIV)The Christian life is not just a sprint or short-distance run - it's a life-long race. If you choose to be on the team, you accept the challenge of becoming the best-conditioned "athlete" possible and persevere to go on until the end.

This year's Adventure Club hot-air balloon trip begins with Paul whose life was a clear testimony of a race well run. He was a true follower of Christ and through his story, Adventurers will discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. They will get to know other great people of faith and faithfulness. In so doing, they will get the opportunity to follow their example as they get in tip-top shape with training in prayer, Bible reading, obedience, witnessing, and other basic disciplines necessary for Christian growth and development. Adventurers will then be challenged to improve their skills in love, self-control, and humility.

As Adventurers run the race, they will be coached on how to jump the hurdles of anger, retaliation and loneliness - all obstacles that can hinder them in the long run. Words from our ultimate Coach, Jesus Christ, will be included. They will be coached in conditioning spiritual muscles so that they can overcome self-pity and insecurity. Additionally, Adventurers will celebrate as a team as they learn the value of unity and overcoming jealousy.

"The Champion's Journey" offers a discipleship emphasis that will help Adventurers move closer to the finish line. A year of exercise in the faith can produce first-rate athletes of the Christian life.

Adventure Club is an action-packed, Bible-based, and skit-based weekly program that creatively introduces children to God through the guidance of caring adults. Boys and girls ages 4-year-old through 6th grade learn and interact with each other in activities geared to place all children on an equal participation level. The purpose is to introduce, encourage the commitment of, and develop the relationship of children to the historical, biblical Jesus.

Through a well-balanced program of songs, Bible lessons, scripture memorization, games, crafts, and other activities, children discover God's love. Adventure Club helps them to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and then to grow toward spiritual maturity.

Kids will "go" on a new Bible adventure every week. The meetings will consist of music, skits, a Bible lesson, a game and crafts. The program will also include prizes for Bible memorization and team events. Parents can rest assured that this is a safe place for their children as all volunteers completed a formal background check.

At River Rock Church we believe that families should worship together. We offer nursery care for the entire church service. And we have the 3 year-olds to 5th grade students participate in the worship time and then we dismiss them to go to Children's Church before the message (approximately 10:25am)

You are also welcome to have your children stay with you during the message time if you desire. We want to help you raise your children in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord" and one great way to model being a Christ-follower is for your children to see you participating in church.

All children's workers have completed a formal background check to help ensure your kids are in good hands.

Click here to go to our secure online giving page

Thank you for your prayerful consideration of supporting River Rock Church through giving tithes and offerings. We are committed to being good stewards of the resources that God has graciously provided us so that we may accomplish His will.

Scripture makes it clear that every believer in every church should give (see 1 Corinthians 16:1-2). In this same passage, the Bible tells us that we should give regularly and consistently in proportion to what we earn. We also need to keep in mind that the Lord loves a cheerful giver (see 2 Corinthians 9:7).

Every Christ-follower should give back to God a portion of their income by supporting their local church. This is both an act of worship and an eternal investment into the Kingdom of God. Put God first with your finances and trust Him to provide all you need (Test God in that! See Malachi 3:10 and Matthew 6:33).

Besides putting the offering envelope in the basket on Sunday mornings,
you can also mail in your offering or use your online banking service
(send to River Rock Church, PO Box 184, Belle Plaine, MN 56011).

You can give online right now by clicking the GIVE button at the top of the page.

"Be strong, show yourself a man and observe all the Lord your God requires." 1 Kings 2:2-3

Our mission is to: Walk humbly with God
(Isaiah 6:1-9) Shepherd our families responsibly
(Eph 5:24-33; 6:4) Relate to one another honestly
(Rom 12:17; Phil 4:8) Share the Gospel passionately
(Matt 28:18-20)

Our vision is to become a movement of men growing in intimacy with God and living a Great Commission lifestyle.

We are Men who seek to: Live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (Eph 2:21-22). Understand that the battle is the Lord's and is to be fought in the spiritual realm and in the fullness of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:7-8; Eph 6:10-13). Work together to hasten the return of our Lord through ministry and service to our churches, workplaces, communities, districts, nation and the world (Matt 24:14; 1 Cor 12:14-26).

"CAMA" stands for Compassion and Mercy Associates. "Services" refers to a variety of relief and development ministries that flesh out the good news of God's love for people-body and soul. Combined, the two words refer to compassionate servants ministering to people in crisis situations through word and deed.
