Latest Update Feb 17th

WHEN ATTITUDES NEED ADJUSTING

This Sundays message focuses on our attitudes. John Maxwell writes in Attitude 101,“When confronted with a difficult situation, a person with an outstanding attitude makes the best of it while he gets the worst of it. Life can be likened to a grindstone. Whether it grinds you down or polishes you depends on what you are made of.”

If you want to watch a church video interview with Olympic speed skater Chad Hedrick http://www.tangle.com/view_video?viewkey=d21c16f1bb87d8e46c97
you will hear how his attitudes changed after he gave his life to Jesus Christ.

NEW PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE

Interested in discovering how you fit in God’s plan?

Interested in knowing why you believe what you believe?

Interested in taking the next step in your walk with Christ?

Pastor Dan is starting a Personal Development course – a combination of Bible and doctrinal study with practical application.

The goal is to help those who are interested in finding their God dream, and helping them pursue it.  I hope to help each person get excited about where God is calling them to serve and then helping them plug into or start a ministry around their dream.  Men, women and older teens are invited.

The group will meet about once per month on Saturday mornings.  Each session will last about 2-3 hours.  Snacks and drinks will be provided.  Expect a very hands on approach, with lots of discussion.

The first session will look at how God uses ordinary people to do extra-ordinary things.

We will look at the people in Scripture, look at their backgrounds, education, personality, what they accomplished – and discuss how and why it was God was able to use them and what this means for each of us.

Sunday 2/7: “When Conflict Comes Crashing In”

“When Conflict Comes Crashing In” as we see how Paul instructed the church in Phillipi to handle conflict. A message about unity, integrity and teamwork on Superbowl Sunday – how fitting!

extra: The sad story of how Noble Doss spent the rest of the years of his life regretting he dropped “the impossible catch” and let his team down. I know a lot of people that have been carrying around guilt from something they did or didn’t do from 10, 20, 30 or more years ago and they too have a lifetime of regret. Find hope in 1 John 1:9 and Psalm 103:8-12! If you’ve dropped the ball in your Christian life it is time to get forgiveness and move forward.

River Rock Update Feb 4th

If you made any “New Years Resolutions” in January, how has the first month been going for you? Some say it takes 21 days to make a habit and maybe a little longer to break a habit. Now that we are 35 days into the New Year how are you doing? The www.youversion.com customizable Bible reading plans are great – especially if you still need to get going on a Bible reading plan. You can even sign up with a friend and become accountable to do your reading program together.

Before Christmas we went through a Peacemaker series and hopefully you gained some new skills for being a Peacemaker. This Sunday we again look at “When Conflict Comes Crashing In” as we see how Paul instructed the church in Phillipi to handle conflict. A message about unity, integrity and teamwork on Superbowl Sunday – how fitting!

Please remember to pray for the 11 students and two leaders going to the Acquire the Fire youth event this Friday and Saturday at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Thank you to those of you who helped pay for tickets for a few of the students who would not have been able to afford to go. This is a good investment in the future Christian leaders in our church and world.

We look forward to hearing from you what God is doing in your life and ministry and we also can’t wait to see you this Sunday as we worship together!
