River Rock is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance

The Alliance is a fellowship of evangelical believers joined together in local churches, dedicated to fulfilling Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations. The Alliance has a thoroughly evangelical doctrinal statement and encourages believers from diverse backgrounds and theological traditions to unite to complete Christ’s Great Commission.

As an organization, the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) has been worshipping and working together since the late 1800’s. Dr. A.B. Simpson, the founder of the C&MA had a vision to train young men and women so that they could communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

The Alliance is unique because it was not a spin-off from another denomination; rather, it is the alliance of people from several denominations for the sole purpose of reaching the world with the gospel.

God has used the initial efforts of Dr. Simpson over the past 100 years to establish over 2500 churches in the United States and Canada. In addition, numerous other churches have been established overseas through the work of our 1200+ missionaries in over 500 countries. A.W. Tozer is also a well known and often quoted historical figurethat was part of theC&MA.

The plain and simple fact that Jesus Christ is the only answer that satisfies man’s hunger for truth and hope of eternal life continues to be the message of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. At the present time, the C&MA is one of the fastest growing denominations in the United States.

Doctrinal Statements

For almost 2,000 years people have been transformed by new life in Jesus Christ. Over the years the landscape has changed and the culture has changed-but God’s Word (the Bible) stands forever. We are part of over 2,000 other churches across the United States that share the same beliefs through the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA).

River Rock supports Alliance Missions & Church Planting

Article Pic

As part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, River Rock Church supports giving to the Great Commission Fund to fund missionaries that seek to evangelize among people groups who have not yet received an understandable presentation of the gospel and among whom there is no indigenous church effectively evangelizing those peoples.

We also desire to plant churches among peoples responsive to the gospel, regardless of their previous exposure to Christianity, with a view to equipping those churches to evangelize unreached peoples and to plant missionary churches among them.

Here are some of the C&MA churches that have been planted in our area (listed by birth order):

“CAMA” stands for Compassion and Mercy Associates. “Services” refers to a variety of relief and development ministries that flesh out the good news of God’s love for people-body and soul. Combined, the two words refer to compassionate servants ministering to people in crisis situations through word and deed. Visit the CAMA Services Web site for further information on how you can become involved in this relief work.
